Certified Nursing Assistant

Overview:


Helps patients by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs; providing comfort, and transportation.


Physical Requirements:


This position demands good physical and mental health. The CNA will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule, must be able to move continuously during working hours and able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds.


Duties:



  • Provides patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.

  • Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; washing and drying residents' laundry, ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.

  • Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.

  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

  • Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.

  • Protects organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.

  • Serves and protects the community by adhering to professional standards, community policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and OHSA standards.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure.

  • Enhances nursing department and community reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
